Not many know about the different techniques and dyes that can be used in the textile industry. The type of dye used varies depending on the fabric to be dyed,and the volume of fabric as well. Articles of clothing that you typically buy at the store are dyed using Industrial dyes,which are easy to use and efficient for high-volume,one-color manufactured products,but will fade quickly after one wash. Procion dye,or Fiber-Reactive dye, takes more work but the careful chemicial process actually binds the color into the fiber of the fabric so it does not fade.
